No wind but some racing
After the breeze and a long day on the water for the Saturday of GJW Direct SailFest, competitors were more than happy for an extended AP ashore as the race team hunted for some wind. This allowed sailors and the families to enjoy the excellent facilities at Calshot and listen to the coach debriefs.
The dinghy park became a bit of a boat show and demo sails for the new classes such as Alto, D-Zero and Icon happened off the slipway.
In front of the cafe the Icon Cup match racing fleet entertained the spectators.
Finally after 2 pm with still more tide than wind the PRO abandoned formal racing for the day. But with a bit of a micro climate around Calshot spit kicking up a small breeze just off the slip, a couple of ad-hoc races were held near the Castle.
Sunday the North Sails Pursuit race is scheduled.
