Coaching Update

GJW Direct SailFest will be supported by coaches from locally based North Sails One Design together with James Royston, who will be focussing on the Laser and Byte competitors.

The coaching day on Friday is a SailFest 'bolt-on', with coaching throughout the weekend included for all competitors, on and off the water.  Each racing day will start with a briefing by the Race Officer, SolentXtra's Peter Knight and the coaches to discuss the tides and winds affecting the course for the day.  Throughout the day SailRacer will be producing on-board and fleet footage from the Garmin VIRB Elite cameras to be used at the end of day debrief.  The sailing instructions for the event have a small tweak to allow on the water coaching comments during the racing as this is a weekend where everybody has the opportunity to give a real boost to their sailing.

We are also delighted to have the company of nutritionist and sailing fanatic Gareth Edwards who will be giving seminars throughout the weekend.  This is a fantastic opportunity to hear the views of a nutritionist who has been studying and prescribing performance related eating plans for over 20 years, unaffected by fashion and whims.  With National titles in the 49er, 470 and Fireball, currently competing in the Laser Masters fleet, he can connect with sailors at all levels and can't help but share his passions.

GJW Direct SailFest represents a fantastic opportunity to combine sailing, coaching, sporting activities and a holiday on the southern shore of the New Forest. The accommodation block on site has a sea view to every room with twin or triple options for B&B - which includes a hearty breakfast to fuel a day on or off the water.  3 nights B&B is £235 for a twin or £255 for a triple and can be extended to enjoy a longer break in a hugely popular holiday destination.
