Tiger Trophy

Since the Tiger Trophy was adopted as a regatta to raise money for the John Merricks Sailing Trust (JMST) with a large proportion of the entry fee going directly to the JMST, this has proven one of the most popular handicap events of the winter. It takes place on Rutland Water in the centre of the country.  The event also features an extensive social programme with the Tiger Dinner taking place on the Saturday night.

The Tiger Dinner on Saturday night (4th February 2017) will be from 7-30pm in the RSC clubhouse Edith Weston,Rutland LE15 8HJ.

The very best quality locally sourced Gluten Free Sausages will be served with Rutland grown mashed potato, green peas and onion gravy, followed by apple pie and custard.

This was John's favourite with £2-50 going to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

Everards Tiger Bitter will be on sale for £3 a bottle again with funds going to the JMST.

If possible, the Tony Everard Trophy will be presented on Saturday evening to the first crew on the Leader Board after the days racing. with no discard.

Ian Walker, John's sailing partner the recent winning skipper of the Volvo Ocean Race, media commentator on the Olympics and trustee of the John Merricks Sailing Trust will be the speaker and the evening will finish with a disco till midnight.
