Building Breeze on day three of Sail for Gold

25 knots forecast for day three at WPNSA

It's day three of the Sail for Gold Regatta at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy with a building breeze expected to reach up to 25-30 knots by this afternoon.

The RS: X, 49er and 49erFX classes kick things off in the morning session at 10:30am, with three races scheduled per class. The Finn, Nacra 17, 470, 2.4mR and Sonar will take to the water from 12:30 with four races.
In the combined 470 class, Luke Patience and Elliot Willis will head out with an unblemished scorecard from the seven race series so far.
The British Sailing Team duo are on track for a second consecutive EUROSAF  Champions Cup medal after they claimed their first podium finish in Holland since they joined forces in late February.
And Willis, a double 470 World Champion, admits they are looking forward to the big breeze at this half way stage of the Sail for Gold Regatta.
“We are really looking forward to the change of pace today. It will be the first time we have sailed in 25 knots plus since teaming up at the beginning of the year, so a new experience but something which we are looking forward to!”
