Real Club Náutico de Valencia
The Real Club Náutico de Valencia is located just ten minutes away from the very heart of Valencia and can be easily reached by car or public transport. The Club is a unique venue for hosting sailing events thanks not only to the extensive facilities including its 100.000 sq. metres inshore and 250.000 sq. metres of private mooring facilities, but also its unique sailing weather.
The yacht club has full catering facilities, changing rooms, showers, meeting and protest rooms. The race office is about 1 km away from the main building but can be easily reached on foot or by car. Race villages are usually located next to the race office and the pontoons so that the sailing and competition atmosphere can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
The waters around Valencia are one of the best for sailing thanks to stable wind conditions predominantly ranging from 100º to140º and which average between 6 and 18 knots along the coast, especially during the summer months. That’s what Valencian sailors call ‘thermal breeze’ or ‘garbí’, which is very much appreciated for inshore competitions.
The Valencia race course waters have been used to host major sailing competitions such as the America’s Cup, TP52 World Series, RC44 and will be the sailing venue for Madrid in the case that it be chosen to host the 2020 Olympics.
With 110 years of history, Real Club Náutico de Valencia has extensive experience in organising sailing events such as Trofeo SM La Reina, Platú 25, Laser and Optimist Spanish Cups, Snipe Spanish Cup or IMS 500 World Championship, among others.
