After two days lost to strong winds it looks like we will return to full racing order today.
It does look like it should be back to business today at the Laser Masters World Championships. The enforced tourism, boat show visits, golf, extra rest periods, sleeping and no doubt a few visits to the pub, that the last two days of postponed racing have requires should be behind us. There is a decent forecast for the day with WNW winds of 15-17kts with gusts to 19kts for the early part of the racing day, and then by afternoon it should drop to a more modest 12-14kts.
It remains a bit grey this morning with some watery sunshine around. Two races are scheduled for the Radial fleet and the Standards with start times at midday.
The forecast into the weekend looks promising too with generally NW’ly winds of between six to 10 knots, so if that comes to pass then the 350 competitors will enjoy a good range of conditions over the course of the regatta.
Sailors are starting to launch this morning with a noticeable mood of optimism.
