AP over A flags are flying. At 1000hrs there was a meeting of all competitors to confirm that there will no racing today due to strong winds.
With winds already gusting to 28 knots out on the race area and the forecast promising more, the race committees took the early decision to postpone racing for the day.
A meeting for all of the competitors was held at 1000hrs this morning to explain the decision and what the outlook is for the coming days, to ensure that future planning for Wednesday and Thursday is in tune with what the majority of competitors would like.
As it stands it is planned now that Thursday, which was scheduled as a lay day, will now see some racing though that may not turn out to be a two race day for both fleets. The forecast for Wednesday is not much better than today but no decisions will be taken before the first reliable forecasts are issued tomorrow morning. Class supremo Jeff Martin explained that there is also no plan to amend the schedule to try and get any more than two races in in any one day. "We are conscious that this is not designed to be an endurance event, a marathon." he confirmed.
