Day 1 finishes up to schedule

The first day of the Laser Master World Championships has seen two races completed in winds from 14-22 knots from the WSW.

There was no shortage of breeze during the first two races for the Radial and the Standard fleets at the Laser Masters World Championships. Both fleets are now ashore, most relishing the chance to get into the warm, dry clubhouse at Hayling Island as the drizzle and rain blows through.

Results are being computed now but among the standout performers on Day 1 has been Greece's Standard Apprentice Masters world champion Adonis Bougiouris who held off four times world champion Brett Beyer to open with two wins. In the Masters Radial fleet local Hampshire sailor Steve Cockerill also won both races.
