The Men's fleets have completed two races with Marcin Rudawski winning both his races in the Yellow fleet.
Conditions, as expected, have been very testing for the sailors and the race committees today with big changes in wind direction and strength. Marcin Rudawski commented when he came ashore:
Marcin Rudawski (POL): " It was really tricky because the wind was really changeable, sometimes strong and sometimes really light, from 9 to 15 knots and in the last race there was a lot of current and so the last upwind was very long and we sailed for well over an hour. I am really happy with my sailing today.
I was really lucky in the first race. On the last upwind the Australian guy made a mistake and tacked just after the last mark and I went to right side and I got a shift and a little bit more wind.
The second race I lead from the first mark. I just tacked after the start and went far right and was able to cross the fleet.
I am really happy. It was very tricky conditions. It is a difficult, challenging place beacause of the windshifts, the land and the islands and the current so it really is a challenge. So being consistent is key, and for me it helps to be quick. I used to sail full rig for eight years and that always helps, changing to the smaller sail is always easier."
