After a satisfactory day on the water yesterday when the wind built enough to allow two races in the girls’ course which was set further to the north of Cumbrae, and one race on the boys’ course, competitors are itching to get on the water this morning.
After a satisfactory day on the water yesterday when the wind built enough to allow two races in the girls’ course which was set further to the north of Cumbrae, and one race on the boys’ course, competitors are itching to get on the water this morning.
The wind is still currently light but the forecast shows a building north-easterly which is due to track round to the west later in the day. In an effort to complete three races today, the race committee have once again rescheduled the start to 1100.
After his win in the opening race yesterday 16-year-old GBR sailor Elliot Hanson says he is keen to get underway today and see if he can repeat his performance, while Tadeusz Kubiak (POL) and Matthew Mollerus (USA) will be trying to see if they can score a couple more wins too.
Another team to keep an eye on today is the Japenese, particularly the girls after Manami Doi, and Momoko Tada’s performance yesterday when they notched up a couple of first places. Julia Vallo Arjonilla (ESP) and the American 17 year old Erika Reineke, who are on equal points at the top of the board, should provide spectators with an interesting match today too.
