RYA continues partnership with SailRacer and sportsXstream

A brand new website and entry system have launched ready for the 2016 RYA Youth National Championships in Plas Heli, Wales (2-8 April).

The new website, developed by SailRacer, is more user friendly and includes updated sports presentation pages. The website also includes the new iRacer entry system, which streamlines the entry process for all RYA events.

After a successful first year working with SailRacer and sportsXstream as the Youth Nationals sports presentation partners, the RYA will once again employ their services for 2016.

GPS tracking will be provided by SailRacer on all courses throughout the week. While, sportsXstream will produce a live feed of on water racing from the inshore course, which will be displayed on the sports presentation pages.

Bas Edmonds, RYA Technical and Racing Services Manager: "Last year's sports presentation was hugely successful and we are really looking forward to welcoming sportsXstream and SailRacer to their second Youth Nationals.

"We hope to get every class to race on the inshore course throughout the week so we should see a good range of racing."

Andy Rice will be back for a second year to commentate on the live action. Rice, a successful yachtsman in his own right, has commentated on a number of major sailing events including the 505 Worlds, Extreme Sailing Series, Olympic Class World Championships and the America's Cup.

The Youth Nationals is the premier youth sailing event in the UK, bringing together almost 300 competitors racing across six classes from around the country. The front of the fleet will be vying for EUROSAF Youth European Championships spots which will be held in Austria (17-21 August). Others will be attending their first ever national event to gain some experience for years to come.

Sailors will gather at the Plas Heli, the Welsh National Sailing Academy on Saturday 2 April before five days of racing gets underway for all classes on Monday 4 April through to Friday 8 April.

You can follow the event build up and see the action unfold on the British Youth Sailing Team Facebook page and on Twitter at @RYAyouthracing. Share your comments with us using #RYAYouths.
