Steamer Point to host rounds 11 and 12 of the 2015 RYA P750 British ThunderCat Racing Championship.
The ThunderCat Racing British tour is returning to Steamer Point, Christchurch, 29-30 August, for the penultimate rounds of the RYA British Championship.
Teams and their followers will flock to the shores between Christchurch and The Needles, Isle of Wight to compete against each other. The two day event will see over 20 two man teams from across the UK battle through the conditions from 11.30 to15.30 each day to gain points for the prestigious British RYA Championship title.
Competition is extremely tight; keep an eye out for some of the anticipated front runners - Multispark Racing Products local Lymington boys Bligh Julius and Charles Hatfield and Team Microlink James Tapp and Ed Redman from Chandlers Ford are currently taking the two top spots in the championship. Hot on their heels is a Welsh team - Hoonigan/Ahmad Team in their first year have reached the podium 4 times and lying 3rd overall. Assisting the growth of both the community and sport at this event are Series sponsors ‘Microlink’ from Chandlers Ford, an assisted technology company, who have now been involved for over 11 years and local sponsors ‘Spirit Circuits’ and ’Lyncolec Printed Circuits’, specialising in printed circuit boards. Managing Director, Steve Driver is already also supporting the team ‘Ragworm’ within the championship.
The public can expect colour, fun, excitement and lots of action on the beach, plus it’s all free of charge, this year you can even take the plunge and “have a go” in the taster session boat! (Conditions apply)
