Semaine Olympique Française - 9th - 13th October

The SOF is a sailing event that has been taking place annually since 1968. The first edition saw 60 sailors competing but now features many more with more classes. This year's event takes place in la Rochelle in France, starting on the 9th of October and finishing on the 13th.

When Olympic style sailing was introduced to the event by ISAF, the SOF was one of the first events to experiment with implementing Qualifier and Final rounds into the sailing, as well as the shorter race format which would allow for more races. In 2002 Paralympic classes were also introduced, allowing everyone to celebrate sailing.
