Dear IAPS National Sailing Regatta Entrants 2013
I am writing to remind you that the IAPS National Sailing Regatta is now only a few days away. IAPS, Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and SailLaser are pleased to welcome 200 young sailors, representing IAPS schools from across the UK to Dorset for this fourth edition of the IAPS sailing event. The two days promise to be a memorable occasion for your pupils whether your school is competing in the U11 day, the U13 day or both.
With regard to the schedule for each day, the Notice of Race (NOR) that is posted under the ‘Notices’ tab on the official SailRacer event website outlines the main timings for the days. Further details will be available to all entrants within the event programme that will be issued, in addition to the Sailing Instructions, at registration.
Remember that the regatta registration desk, located in Room 4 on the first floor of the WPNSA, is open from 9.30 to 10.00am on each day. Please can you try to arrive within these times. If a problem prevents you from arriving within the registration time on either day, please do telephone the SailLaser regatta office to inform us and we can then take the necessary actions. The SailLaser number is: 0845 337 3214.
Please remember to bring your completed parental medical consent forms along to registration (one for each pupil). If a pupil does not have a completed form with them they will not be allowed onto the water.
After registration your pupils may then head to the changing rooms, located within the Sailing Academy, to kit up ready for the pre-race briefing at 10.15am. Please do ask any of the SailLaser instructors / Academy staff for assistance if you are unsure of directions etc at any stage.
The IAPS merchandise counter will be available on site for those of you who wish to purchase selected branded IAPS regatta merchandise on the day.
Our new event sponsor Quilter, one of the UK’s largest independently owned discretionary investment management firms, will be holding an afternoon buffet reception for accompanying IAPS adult supporters to meet and relax whilst the pupils are racing on water. Please do take the time to visit the reception which will be located within Spinnakers restaurant on the first floor of the Academy.
In the meantime you may like to visit the following website link that features a live feed showing the slipways of WPNSA that we will be launching from very soon. Maybe you could share this link with others who cannot make it down to Weymouth for the event itself:
