Formed in 1846, the club originally stood opposite the Royal Pier in Southampton where the old club building can still be seen today. The club was then later relocated to where it currently stands in Hamble in 1947 as Southampton quickly grew as a commercially used port.
Now the Yacht Club boasts an excellent range of facilities, such as accommodation taking the form of period cottages by the River Hamble and a fully featured bar for dining and socializing. With a variety of pontoons for different boats, dry berthing and storage for boats, Royal Southern Yacht Club is a fully featured venue for both competitive and leisurely use.
