Infrastructure for Major Events

Weymouth and Portland is now the natural venue of choice for major marine events. In addition to the quality of the waters for competition, there has been an enormous investment in sailing and transport infrastructure that sets WPNSA apart.

The Academy has 125 pontoon berths available for events and we have the opportunity to spill over into the newly constructed Portland Marina if this is required.

In addition to the pontoon facilities there are deep water slipways for launching of RIBs and support boats and three boat hoists available locally ranging from 16 tonnes to 320 tonnes capacity.

For the smaller keelboats, the Academy has three cranes between 2.5 tonnes and 4 tonnes capacity, so large fleets of small keelboats can be sailed on a daily dry sailing basis.

The Academy provides world class race management, so whatever the nature or size of your event we are able to provide ready-made, tried and tested solutions.
